About Me

Training your dog is not about tough love or who is top dog.

My name is Clare and this amazing journey began in July 2015 when I left a long term employment that I really enjoyed but came to realise I didn’t love. I took a huge leap of faith into setting up a business to start working with dogs as I have always had a passion for dogs, both mine and other peoples. It was the best decision I have ever made. 

I previously ran my company as Paws and Snores providing dog walking, day care and home boarding (Licence number AW028 with Mid Sussex District Council) so that my client’s dogs could have a holiday while their owners had theirs. I wanted to provide a home from home holiday experience with lots of extra fun thrown in so owner’s could see how happy their dogs were with me. Please note I no longer offer home boarding or day care.

I got interested in dog training and dog behaviour during those first few years of working within the animal industry and have been on a learning journey ever since! 

I qualified in 2019 with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) for my Level 4 Behaviour and have since qualified with the International School of Canine Psychology (ISCP) for my Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour. (Clare Jarmaine ISCP.Dip.Canine.Prac) 

I have completed Michael Shikashio's Aggression in Dogs Master Course and have recently received a diploma with distinction from the ISCP in Understanding and Working with Aggressive Responses in dogs. I am fascinated by dog behaviour and strive to keep learning.

I qualified with Absolute Dogs as a fully certified Pro Dog Trainer.

Absolute Dogs use games based reward training and I am a firm follower of positive reinforcement behaviour training. 

All struggles are in fact strengths and my main reason for taking up dog training and dog behaviour is I believe that all dogs and their owners deserve to have the best possible relationship and should be able to enjoy the company each other provide, stress free walks and be able to have fun together. I can help you transform you relationship with your dog and will support you throughout this journey.
